In June 1998, the International Campaign to Ban Landmines established "Landmine Monitor," a unique and unprecedented civil society based reporting network to systematically monitor and document nations' compliance with the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty and the humanitarian response to the global landmine crisis. Landmine Monitor complements the existing state-based reporting and compliance mechanisms established by the Mine Ban Treaty.

Since 1999 ICBL Georgian Committee is researcher organization of Landmine Monitor and has prepared LM reports for Georgia in  1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004.
